You might have a clean stove top (and that’s great!), but have you ever taken a closer look at the stove top vent, too? If you turn on the light under the hood, what do you see? Chances are your stove top vent is filthy, and you don’t want a greasy, dirty vent right above where you cook your food. It’s essential to make sure your cooking areas are sanitary before preparing food.
Here’s a quick tip on how to clean your stove top vent:
-
Fill the sink with super hot water and a water-based degreaser. You can get a water-based degreaser from the auto parts store or try a little Dawn.
-
Drop in the filter, and let it set for about 15-30 minutes. The degreaser does all the work.
-
Rinse it off.
